BCI's fourth Spanish-English children's book introduces Lucia, a young nectar bat who learns she can make a difference in the world just by being herself. Author Laura Navarro chronicles the migration of nectar bats which, as pollinators of agave plants and cactus such as organ pipe and saguaros, ensure the continuity of desert life. Black-and-white illustrations by renowned Mexican artist Juan Sebastian accompany the story, and educational bat facts are featured at the end. For ages 4-10.
